May 12, 2022 was the first Graduation Class for the United Way Give 5 Volunteer Program

Give 5 is a no-cost civic-matchmaking program that connects retirees with meaningful volunteer opportunities that best fit their skill sets and passions.  Participants learn about the most challenging problems facing our community and uncover ways they can help make a difference in addressing them.

Participants are introduced to and tour non-profit agencies working in the area of Childhood Poverty, learning how they could support each non-profit. By the end of the program, each participant is encouraged to select an organization to commit to a volunteer opportunity at the end of the program.

With the first graduation class, JRC was honored to be selected by 3 of the graduates to volunteer their time and our agency.

The three new volunteers for JRC are:

Lester Strode Jr.

Sue Lewis

Melinda Graham

Thank you for choosing JRC, and we look forward to having you become part of our wonderful volunteer program!

Thank you also to United Way for including us as a participant in this valuable volunteer program!
