Traveling to different countries has become quite a fun and exciting monthly adventure for the members at the JRC Adult Day Center - even travelling more than once a month many times.

In March, Ireland was the country to travel to in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  Everyone was given their ticket and boarding pass in advance and asked to wear green for the trip.  One of the members, Linda, took her ticket home to her son and exclaimed “I’m too old to go on the trip, you go!”  But Linda was never-the-less on the trip and can be seen below having a great time. (group photo lady in the front row - in the center of the ladies).

The trip began with the staff (Flight Attendant - Gina) gathering them in The Memory Room and getting them ready with their tickets to board the airplane to Ireland.  Once seated in rows on the plane they were given snack bags for the trip and were told to place these items securely under their seats for departure.  The iN2L Computer System 70” screen took over to simulate a flight to Ireland with beautiful scenery all the way visiting places and attractions that make Ireland so special.  They learned about customs, food and even played trivia to quiz their minds.  They were entertained in flight by playing a guessing game with Lucky Charms (how many in the jar), the leprechaun prize choice game as each passenger chose either a trick or a treat from the Ireland bag as a memento and finally a ZOOM Bingo game with Irish prizes & treats provided by a little Leprechaun Megan McCabe from Progressive Quality (Amherst Meadows).

The trip was a wonderful day of travel and we are sure they were exhausted from their day to Ireland and back!
